Welcome to FHM-RP
The FHMRP is a research programme coordinating sub-entity of NaFIRRI for all forms of fish habitat research interventions. Thisis aimed at harmonizing fish habitat research by linking it directly to fish production, with the overall objective of facilitating the understanding of the dynamics in fisheries production as influenced by the various environmental variables in different fish production systems.
Overall Programme Objective
To facilitate the understanding of the dynamics in fisheries production as influenced by the various environmental variables in different fish production systems
Specific Objectives
-
1. To provide information on physico-chemical conditions and nutrients dynamics for fisheries productivity;
2. To evaluate primary and secondary productivity dynamics for improved fish production;
3. To provide information on the roles and impacts of pollutants and contaminants of environmental concern on fish productivity and biosafety;
4. To provide information on impacts and management of aquatic weeds in relation to fisheries productivity and livelihoods of fishers;
5. To integrate climate science into fisheries productivity, policy, practice and livelihoods.
